Research at the Department of Education
Research in the Department of Education looks at education throughout the human life cycle and in different forms of education. Dialogue between research and practice is important, as is an orientation towards future education and training. Research aims to generate new knowledge on educational and pedagogical issues, to contribute to the development of educational policy and to provide practical tools for education and pedagogical professionals.
The research covers a wide range of topics and themes in different contexts of education, teaching, learning and upbringing. It focuses on curriculum development, policy analysis, the impact of learning environments and technology on learning, multicultural education, special pedagogies, and research on learning and learning disabilities.

The Centre of Excellence for Learning Dynamics and Intervention Research (InterLearn) investigates the links between children's learning and mental health, and the factors that explain the effectiveness of learning support interventions.
The Social Sustainability for Children and Families (SOSUS) profiling area aims to provide understanding of how children, youth and families thrive and how the diverse environments they live in and opportunities available for them contribute to their growth and development.
The LearnDigi profiling area brings together researchers from three faculties to explore learning and interaction processes in digital and technology-mediated environments.
The Methodology Centre for Human Sciences offers to the Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥'s doctoral students and researchers training and events on research methodology across faculty boundaries.
Research in the Department of Education focuses on five research areas, which are shared with the Department of Teacher Education.
