Early childhood education and care teacher's gaze in pedagogical interaction with toddlers
Doctoral dissertation research project related to early childhood education and care (ECEC) teachers gaze in pedagogical interaction with children under three years old (toddlers). Gaze has a significant role on performing and sustaining interaction and gaze is used to observe, predict, and to make decisions in pedagogical activities. In this project ECEC teachers' gaze is studied with eye-tracking technology and research articles composed in this project are part of Susanna Isotalo's doctoral dissertation.

Project description
Susanna Isotalo's dissertation aims to investigate teachers’ visual gaze behavior in pedagogical activities to gain a deeper understanding of the ways in which teachers use their gaze to facilitate interactions and pedagogy with young children. To accomplish this, understanding is deepened trough concepts of pedagogical episodes in activities and teachers professional vision.
