Doctoral education
The Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥ has 18 doctoral programmes. Depending on the doctoral programme and specialisation option it is possible to pursue a doctoral degree in philosophy, education, economics and business administration, sport sciences, psychology, technology, health sciences and social sciences. The call for applications for doctoral programmes is opened twice a year. You can apply for doctoral training if you have completed a relevant master’s degree awarded by a university, a relevant master’s degree awarded by a university of applied sciences or a relevant study programme abroad which in the awarding country gives eligibility for doctoral training.

Timetable spring 2025
- Application round opens on 1 April 2025 at 8:00 a.m. EEST*
- Deadline for applications is 30 April 2025 at 3:00 p.m. EEST
- Applicants are informed of the results by 18 June 2025
- Study place must be accepted by 2 July 2025 at 3:00 p.m. EEST
- Doctoral study right starts on 1 August 2025

- Deadline for applications is 30 September 2025 at 3:00 p.m. EEST
- Applicants are informed of the results by 18 November 2025
- Study place must be accepted by 2 December 2025 at 3:00 p.m. EET**
- Doctoral study right starts on 1 January 2026

Student admissions
The spring 2025 admission decisions will be notified to applicants no later than 18 June 2025 and the autumn 2025 admission decisions no later than 18 November 2025.
