Research at the Department of Chemistry
The Department of Chemistry at the Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥ focusses on advancing scientific frontiers through fundamental research, which also provides a foundation for new innovations. We develop chemistry education through research.
The diverse research interests at the Department of Chemistry are categorised into four areas of strength – Functional Molecules and Materials, Chemical Nanoscience, Circular Economy and Chemistry Education – that go beyond the traditional sub-disciplines of chemistry. For example, the circular economy is important in tackling today’s big issues such as climate change, raw material scarcity and waste.
We value and work with a wide range of universities, research institutes and companies on a daily basis. An important internal research partner is the interdisciplinary Nanoscience Centre.
