Chemical Nanoscience
To advance our knowledge of chemistry at the nanoscale, we combine experimentation, theory, and computation. Our research is focused on molecular magnetism, heterogeneous catalysis, molecular recognition, molecular assembly, two-dimensional materials, and ligand-protected metal nanoclusters. In addition, through collaborations at the Nanoscience Center, we address challenges at the interface between chemistry, physics and biology, including strong-light matter coupling, in vivo imaging, cellular signaling and host–pathogen interaction.
Thanks to our state-of-the art spectroscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance and X-ray crystallography facilities, which are complemented with high-performance computing, we have access to structure and dynamics at the chemically relevant length- and timescales. Our activities are strengthened through partnerships with LaserLab Europe and the Bioexcel Center of Excellence. We also make extensive use of the computing resources of the CSC – IT Center for Science.
