Analytical Chemistry and Circular Economy
Table of contents

Research group description
The Analytical Chemistry and Circular Economy research group combines expertise in inorganic and analytical chemistry and research on the recovery of valuable materials. By developing new analytical methods, we gain more accurate information on harmful substances in our environment and their accumulation in nature, such as methylmercury and widely used nanoparticles.
Many waste materials and side streams contain significant amounts of useful and valuable materials that can be recovered to contribute to the circular economy. In our research, we have developed methods for recovering valuable metals from electronic waste, including using recycled acids, and methods for recycling phosphorus in sewage sludge.
Development work in the research group is carried out in close collaboration with several companies as well as the center of excellence in circular economy.
