Sustainable business and economy

Sustainable business and economy is one of the three main areas of research at JSBE. The research is carried out in four research groups: Sustainable business, Strategy and entrepreneurship, Responsible management, leadership, digitalization & strategy and Organisational ethics, leadership and HRM.

Sustainable business and economy has grown into a leading focus area of JSBE’s mission and a strong connecting theme in our research and education. It is fair to say that we have been one of the global pioneers among business schools in research and education in sustainable business.

We have been offering an international Master’s Degree Programme in Corporate Environmental Management since 1995. We are also one of the founding partners contributing to the University’s research community on Resource Wisdom.

Optimizing forest industry sustainability with value chain data (OPTIMI 1)

In OPTIMI 1 project, we focus on the emissions in a company’s supply chain, as they are on average 11 times higher than direct emissions and reflect more than 70% of total emissions.
