Managing Social Sustainability of Sport

Table of contents
Project description
This research examines the management of social sustainability and the intersection of institutional logics. The research aims to provide new insights into the logics that drive sustainability in sport management and the implications of these institutional logics for sustainability. The research project will explore the historical change in institutional logics and stakeholder perceptions. The research project is particularly interested in how sport can be a sustainable workplace. Our research will provide new theoretical and practical insights to support sport policy making.
Goals
While the performance of athletes and sporting events are under constant public scrutiny, less attention has been paid to high standards of organising and management. Sport operates in a high-pressure environment where high levels of commitment and performance are required. High performance sport is not an isolated island in society, but the demands of responsible management and sustainability are also present in this environment.
This research project uses qualitative and quantitative methods.
