The Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥ has carried out research assessment every 5th to 8th years. The research assessment has been a combination of self-assessment and external assessment by an international panel. To support assessment process, background material has been compiled, including information on research activities (for example, bibliometric analysis) and resources (for example, number of personnel). The focus of the research assessment has been either the quality of research (2005, 2010) or research environment (2018, 2021, 2023).
Universities Act () provides that universities must evaluate their research activities.
