Sustainable society

Our mission is to excel in research concerning of sustainable materials and their fabrication, circular economy, light responsive molecules and nanostructures and in catalytic processes towards low carbon society.

Sustainable solutions need nanoscience

The development of sustainable solutions requires detailed information on phenomena happening in nanoscale. Multidisciplinary approaches are needed to understand for example the basis of catalytic processes, how materials interact with light or how by-products materials can be reduced or re-used for example in antimicrobials.

Light-matter interaction can be used to investigate properties of matter. Nanosized systems have specific optical properties that convey information on their electronic structure. In infrared range, spectroscopic measurements give information on the molecular interactions and structural properties.

More information on the research can be found on the research groups' own websites.
