Our research seeks to advance the knowledge of nuclear dynamics and interactions by employing a new interdisciplinary approach combining biology and biophysics with state-of-the-art techniques of imaging, advanced image analysis, and biophysical modeling.

Research group description

We wish to understand the mechanisms of nuclear import, intranuclear mobility and nuclear export of parvoviruses and herpesviruses in order to understand the biological processes of infection. Our findings will help to understand some critical factors in viral infection which up to now to a large extent have gone unrecognized.
