Biography

Research interests
I prepare and study self-assembling materials and structures whose functionality is driven by weak intermolecular interactions between organic molecules and ions. Host molecules that contain a binding site for a smaller guest molecule or ion have many applications in chemical separation, transport, sensing and catalysis. The goal is to develop molecular level chemical applications for bio and circular economy, including recovery and upcycling of valuable components from biomass using organic supramolecules as extractants and catalysts.
