The first forms of Converis research activity module are in use
During 2024, new research activity module is implemented in Converis. The new module enables versatile recording of different kinds of merits related to research and expert tasks. The information recorded in activity module is based on national data model ”Researcher’s profile” used in service (Finnish Research information hub), template for by Finnish National Board on Research Integrity TENK, and national recommendation for . Specific needs of JYU units and feedback from researchers are taken into account.
Production use starts for the first activity forms - test use will be expanded for the rest
On Wed 8 May 2024 the first activity forms are opened in Converis to production use. The implementation includes the following forms:
- Prize or distinction
- Peer review or editorial work
- Presentations
Activities will be visible in public portal and in Converis profile pages. Activity-related will be supplemented as part of the implementation. Recording activities is primarily voluntary, but the data is used in some JYU units (e.g. JSBE) as part of internal reporting in accordance with the units' own guidelines. In the future activities marked as public in Converis shall be transferred to the National Finnish Research information hub ( service).
During May, the remaining forms based on activity entity forms will also be open for testing:
- Research leadership, supervision and funding
- Thesis supervision or examination
- Other teaching merit
- Evaluation or assessment
- Organisation of event or conference
- Membership or position of trust
- Media visibility and popularisation
- Scientific and societal impact
- Other research or development task
Nb. classifications used in the forms may change and there are still omissions in the help texts. However, the forms can be used to record your own data even before the official launch that will take place in two phases in summer and autumn 2024 (if some data model change during testing phase affects already recorded data, users will be informed of this). In addition, feedback on recorded data and form layout is welcome.
Academic qualifications (e.g. docentships) will be recorded with a simplified form compared to other activities directly under expert profile information. This form will be opened for test use on June.
