Bridging Disciplines: SCISSORS Project with Inspiring Results

The day was filled with intense discussions about project management, remaining final tasks, and the impact of the project including the SCISSORS Book and the folk tale boxes— the project’s central tools.
has been funded by the European Union’s Erasmus+ program, achieved significant outcomes during its run. Reflecting on these achievements, Orsolya Tuba said, “We have all developed during the project and have realised how crucial it is to connect science and social studies to create a richer, more meaningful learning experience for students” Echoing this sentiment, Etelka Suhajda, SCISSORS project manager remarked, “Though at times the path was challenging, we emerged with a deeper understanding of how impactful these subjects can be when linked together.”
In a unique reflection activity using Dixit cards, project members expressed their feelings about their SCISSORS journey. One card depicted a caterpillar transforming into a butterfly, symbolizing growth and the transformative power of the project. Others shared feelings of inspiration, change, and curiosity, highlighting the lasting influence of the initiative on their professional and personal perspectives.
During the closing reflection, participants discussed the project's journey and future implications. Several reflected on the impact of folk tale-based learning activities, the successful development of lesson plans, and the broader understanding of integrating social and science studies.
