Learning and Cognitive Sciences

Learning and cognitive sciences combines human sciences and technical subjects. Research focuses on issues such as the educational use of technology and intelligence. Research topics may include the mind, experience and thinking.

Cognitive science and the educational use of technology in research

Educational technology uses a multidisciplinary approach to combine research on educational technologies with their use to enhance and support teaching and learning. The discipline is based on theories of human development and learning, but the main focus is on technology as part of information and educational technology.

At the Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥, research and development of educational technology at the Faculty of Information Technology concentrates on learning analytics. In learning analytics, multimodal data is collected on learners, learning activities, and learning environments, along with their interactions. This data is then modelled in a data-driven fashion to better understand and improve teaching and learning together with the use of technology.
