Key research topics include, for instance, skills and competencies of both the young and the adults as well as their skills needs, vocational education and training, co-operation between education and working life, professional and educational transitions, lifelong guidance, learning in workplaces, accreditation of prior experiential learning, the development of pedagogy for the interface of working life and education, and social inclusion.
The research area also examines the economic and societal impact of education. The goal is to produce data and information to support the flexible alignment of education and working life, as well as to assist in the development of guidance services which enhance individuals' opportunities to succeed in a rapidly changing society and labor market.
