The overall evaluation of education and training in career guidance

Table of contents
Project description
The overall evaluation of education and training in career guidance examined the current state of both the Finnish and Swedish-language education and training provision in guidance in Finland in terms of the structures and contents of education. The evaluation also assessed the functionality of the educational structures and identified possible areas for further development. The structures and content of guidance education were evaluated against the National Competency Framework for Career Professionals.
The evaluation findings provide a well-founded and comprehensive picture of the current state of the structures and content of guidance education and training as well as identify possible areas for improvement for decision-makers, funders, education providers and those in education.
The project is a part of a development project on lifelong guidance co-ordinated by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment, and the Development and Administrative Services Centre (KEHA Centre) and it was implemented by the Finnish Institute for Educational Research.
