FAQ: attachments for master's applicants

Applicants who have submitted an application
by 22 Jan 2025 at 3 p.m. (EET) can save any missing attachments to the application until 29 Jan 2025 at 3 p.m. (EET).

You can re-access your application by using the link provided to you in the confirmation email you received after sending your application on Studyinfo.fi.

You can find a full list of all the required attachments in the programme-specific admission criteria.

Please do not to send us any other documents, as these cannot be considered and only slow down the processing of your application.

Requirements for officially certified documents (if admitted)

All educational documents must be in English, Finnish, or Swedish. If any of your educational documents are not in one of these languages, an official translation is required, along with the document on which the translation is based.

Any documents that have not been translated according to our requirements will not be considered in the admission process. For detailed instructions, please see:

How to submit required attachments?

All necessary information can be found in the admission criteria. Please review the criteria for the programme(s) you are applying to and follow the instructions carefully.

The application form includes a separate section for each programme, with specific fields where you upload each attachment.

We do not make any extensions to our deadlines, even if the delay was caused by a third party, such as the language test organiser, the applicant’s former university, or by the applicant's illness or any other unexpected event. For this reason, we advise applicants to start preparing the necessary documents well in advance of the deadline.

The following programmes require a GMAT or GRE test if the applicant have not completed and will not complete a degree obtained in an EU/EEA country by the given deadline:

Banking and International Finance
International Business and Entrepreneurship, and
Digital Marketing and Corporate Communications.

How to submit your GRE/ GMAT results

Regular scanned copies of your documents are sufficient in the application phase. You must submit your educational documents electronically by uploading them to your online application form by the attachment deadline (29 January 2025 at 3.00 p.m. EET).

If you are admitted, in most cases, you will be required to submit officially certified copies of your educational documents. Typically, this involves sending physical copies by postal mail. In some cases, official electronic documents are also accepted.

Officially certified copies are not needed if we are able to verify your educational documents, for example, from the Finnish national database.

The officially certified documents must reach JYU by the deadline (15 July 2025 at 3.00 p.m. EEST).

If you use generative artificial intelligence (AI) to aid your application, you must indicate which model (e.g., ChatGPT, Bing Chat) you have used and in what way through proper citations (written assignments) or oral communication (video assignment). However, citations are not necessary if you use AI solely for ideation, proofreading, stylisation or similar purposes.

Claiming AI-generated content as your own without acknowledging it is considered plagiarism. If we detect that a supporting document or assignment has been generated by AI, either wholly or in part, without proper acknowledgement, it will be given zero points.
