If you graduate after 8 January 2025, you must submit a transcript of records that covers all the studies you have completed to date. Your transcript of records (or some other official document issued by the awarding institution) must state the name of the degree to be awarded to you upon graduation (e.g., Bachelor of Science). The document must be uploaded to your application form by 29 January 2025 at 3:00 p.m. (EET).

If offered a conditional study place, you must submit your final educational documents by 15 July 2025 at 3:00 p.m. (EEST). The copies must be certified according to our specific requirements.

If your name has changed after your educational documents were issued, you must submit proof of the change of name (e.g., a marriage or civil partnership certificate, a life certificate, an extract from the Finnish Population Information System). The document must state your previous and current name, or otherwise, show a clear link between the two. If you are a Finnish citizen and your educational documents state your Finnish personal identity code, no proof of the change of name is required.

If your Finnish personal identity code has changed after your educational documents were issued, you must submit a certificate proving the change.
 

A degree certificate is a document issued by the degree-awarding educational institution to a student who has successfully completed all studies included in the degree, has graduated, and has been conferred the degree. The degree certificate must include:

• the name of the institution awarding the degree
• the date of award/conferral of the degree
• the name of the person to whom the degree certificate has been issued
• the academic title/degree (e.g., Bachelor of Science) the person has been awarded

Please note that the certificate must explicitly state that the degree has been granted, awarded or conferred. A document stating that you meet all the degree requirements or that a degree will be awarded to you in the future does not suffice.

A temporary (provisional) degree certificate is a document issued by the degree-awarding educational institution to a graduated student. The certificate is issued as a temporary replacement in case the actual degree certificate cannot be given to the student immediately upon graduation due to technical or administrative reasons. A temporary degree certificate can be accepted in the place of your actual degree certificate, provided that the following information is included:

• the name of the institution awarding the degree
• the date of award/conferral of the degree
• the name of the person to whom the temporary degree certificate has been issued
• the academic title/degree (e.g., Bachelor of Science) the person has been awarded

Please note that the certificate must explicitly state that the degree has been granted, awarded or conferred. A document stating that you meet all the degree requirements or that a degree will be awarded to you in the future does not suffice.

A transcript of records (mark sheet) is an official document that records your academic performance and is issued by the relevant higher education institution. A screenshot from a study system, My Studyinfo or similar or a link directing to such a service does not suffice.

The document must include the following information:

• the name of the student
• full titles of the units that the student has completed for the degree
• completion times of study units (or, at the very least, the overall study time at the institution)
• grades obtained
• credits awarded
• information on the grading scale used at the institution at the time of study
• If you have not yet graduated, the transcript of records must state the name of the degree that will be awarded to you upon graduation (e.g., Bachelor of Science).

The transcript must cover the full length of your studies. If your degree includes units that you completed at another institution and the transfer credits are not included in detail, a separate transcript of records regarding the transferred credits should be submitted.

A diploma supplement can be accepted in place of a transcript of records if you have graduated and submitted your degree certificate.

Grades, credits, names and completion times of study units

Information on your grades, the credits awarded for individual study units, and the full names and completion times* of study units is required for the academic evaluation of your application. If your transcript of records does not include all this information, we may not be able to evaluate your application or your admission score could be affected negatively.

If the information that is missing from your transcript of records (e.g., full names of study units or the credits awarded for individual study units) is available on the webpage of the educational institution in English, Finnish or Swedish, add a direct link to that specific web page to your application form.

* At the very least, the document must state the period you studied at the given educational institution.

Grading scale

Information on the grading scale used at the institution at the time of study must include all the grades and marks that appear on your transcript of records. The description should include the grades in relation to each other and depict the highest and lowest grades, as well as which grades are passing and failing.

If your transcript of records does not include the necessary information on the grading scale used at the institution at the time, please provide a direct link to an official web page belonging to the educational institution in question where the information on the grading scale can be verified in English, Finnish or Swedish.

If the grading scale is not verifiable from the official website, a separate official document describing the grading scale is required. The document must be issued in English and officially certified by the awarding institution, or compiled by the applicant and officially certified by the awarding institution.

If your educational documents are issued in a language other than English, Finnish, or Swedish, an official translation to one of these languages is required. Please notice that you are required to submit a certified copy of the original language version as well. However, if the degree-awarding institution customarily issues official educational documents in several languages, the English language version will suffice by itself. For example, if your educational documents were issued to you in Spanish and English, the English version will suffice by itself.

To be accepted, the translation must be exact and done either by the awarding institution or an official translator. It cannot be done by you, the applicant.

A diploma supplement issued in either English, Finnish, or Swedish can be accepted as an official translation of your degree certificate/transcript of records if all the necessary information is included. A diploma supplement is only accepted if you have graduated and submitted your degree certificate.
