Application process step by step
1. Start preparing well in advance! First read through the admission criteria of the programme. Then, if required, book and take possible aptitude or language tests at your earliest convenience. An SAT may be required depending on your previous qualification. For some applicants in Admission group I, a language test may be required.
Familiarise yourself with our document requirements in advance.
2. Submit the online application form on Studyinfo.fi during the application period. Don't worry if you can't see it yet: the form is available only during the dedicated application period. After you have submitted your application, check your email (including your spam folder) regularly throughout the application process!
3. Submit the required attachments by the given deadline. Upload the required attachments to your application form on Studyinfo.fi. Please do not send us any other documents, as these cannot be considered and only slow down the processing of your application.
4. Wait for decisions: information on the admissions will be sent by email. The University will make the decisions on student admissions based on the applicant’s application according to the programme-specific admission criteria. Applicants will be informed of the admissions via email.
5. If you get conditionally admitted because some of the information you submitted during the admission process was unconfirmed, please submit the information required according to JYU’s instructions and by the deadlines given on this webpage. If you fail to submit the required information in time or if the information or documents you submit do not meet our requirements, your admission will be cancelled.
6. Remember to accept the study place on Studyinfo by the deadline! If you get admitted to several programmes in Finland, make sure to accept the study place in your preferred programme. The acceptance is binding and cannot be changed later.

The application form is open only during the application period.

This section explains the general eligibility requirements for our international bachelor's degree programme. Please see the admission criteria for the specific requirements.
You must submit a complete application to be eligible. If any of the necessary attachments are missing, we will not be able to process your application.
If you are a final-year student and the qualification used to prove your eligibility is still incomplete at the time of application, you can be admitted on the condition that you graduate and submit the required final educational documents/information according to JYU’s admissions timetable. If you fail to do so, your admission will be cancelled. If you graduate later or the necessary documents cannot be issued in time for you to meet our deadlines, then please wait until 2026 to apply.
In the application phase, you are required to submit all the other required attachments except for final educational documents. Instead, you will be asked to provide information on your unfinished degree on the application form.

The admission criteria are programme-specific and detail the specific eligibility requirements and the way in which the admission score for each eligible applicant is calculated in each programme. Business Innovation and Sustainability programme has three different admission groups. These different groups have their own threshold criteria.
Please make sure to familiarise yourself with the admission criteria:
Good to know for minors
Please note that if you are under 18 years old when you start the studies in Finland, you are legally a minor and you can’t for example make a rental agreement for accommodation, electricity contract or open a bank account by yourself. Therefore, life in Finland as a minor student without parents can be very challenging.
