Research group description

The group operates in the field of business and management research and comprises two thematic streams: [1] leadership, accounting and strategy as practice, [2] responsibility issues in management. The streams work in close collaboration and are unified by qualitative methodology, interest in digitalization, and critical orientation.

The REDAS research group is lead by Senior University Lecturer, docent Tommi Auvinen, co-leaders are Professor Antti Rautiainen and University Teacher Pasi Sajasalo. The SALP research stream is lead by University Teacher Pasi Sajasalo and co-leader is Professor Antti Rautiainen. The RELM research stream is lead by Professor (emeritus) Tuomo Takala.

Strategy, Accounting and Leadership as Practice (SALP)

Research stream focuses on strategy, accounting and leadership as narrated phenomena and combines viewpoints of various human sciences. Research topics include (i) use of fantasy, myths, cults, and fairytales in leadership, (ii) interrelationships of management, strategizing and decision-making with accounting information, (iii) the relationship between organizational reality and stories told in organizations in the current digital era.

Responsible Leadership and Management (RELM)

Research stream focuses on responsible leadership and management from a multidisciplinary viewpoint combining different areas of business ethics. Research topics include (i) corporate social responsibility, (ii) leadership and organizational ethics, (iii) critical management study, and (iv) good leadership in public sectors organizations. The editorial responsibility of Electronic Journal of Business Ethics and Organizations Studies EJBO resides within the stream.
