Shanghai Ranking of Academic Subjects 2023: JYU places well in international university ranking
JYU’s research in the discipline of Library & Information Science ranked first among the Finnish universities and was placed 38 in the Shanghai Global Ranking of Academic Subjects published on Friday 27 October 2023. This includes the Information Systems Science at the Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥.

The Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥'s Communication was placed in between 76-100. Education was ranked between 101-150.
Altogether, 11 branches of science from JYU were included in global top 500: Mathematics ranked 151-200, Biology, Ecology, Psychology, and Sport (Sport included in the Hospitality and Tourism Management) ranked 201–300. Chemistry ranked 301, Physics and Management 401–500.
The ranking included over 5,000 universities. It considered, for example, the quality of research, international cooperation, publications in top journals, and significant academic awards.
