JYU keeps its position in the Shanghai Ranking 2024
The Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥ was again included in the Shanghai Ranking (Academic Ranking of World Universities, ARWU) and this year the ranking was 701–800. The position was the same as in the previous year. Of the universities in Finland, JYU was sixth-seventh.

This year, more than 2500 institutions were scrutinized, and the best 1000 universities in the world are published.
The Shanghai Ranking mostly focuses on research. The comparison is based on, for example, Nobel prize-winning alumni, highly cited researchers and articles published in renowned scientific journals. Seven Finnish universities were included in the list.
According to the ranking, the most valued university is again Harvard and it is followed by Stanford and MIT. The global top 20 included 16 universities from the USA.
