Wellbeing and creative therapies

At the interface of everyday well-being and clinical practice, the importance of therapeutic writing will be explored from different perspectives.

The relationship between arts and well-being has become an increasingly central theme in recent years. Outside the clinical context, the well-being dimensions of art in people's everyday lives are being explored, such as the role of listening to music as a means of regulating emotions. At the interface between everyday well-being and clinical practice, the role of therapeutic writing as a means of relieving the stress of serious illness, for example, is being explored. The clinical context is represented by music therapy, the study of which is part of the work of the Centre of Excellence in Music, Mind, Body and Brain. Within it, music therapy research focuses on impact research, with target groups including adult emotional disorders and the autism spectrum in children.
