First aid - call 112
In emergencies: Call 112. When the question is about a life-threatening situation, react quickly and immediately call the emergency number 112, where you will get help and instructions on what to do.
Situation requiring a visit to the emergency clinic: Always call first
If your condition is not threatening your life but still requires quick investigation and treatment, go to your own health centre during its opening hours.
If your health centre is closed and you need urgent help, call (free of charge). Helpline evaluates if your condition requires urgent treatment and also gives you further instructions. The joint emergency services of the Hospital Nova (Hoitajantie 3, Jyväskylä) only treats patients, who due to illness or accident must be treated immediately on the same day and whose treatment cannot be postponed to the next day.

Get familiar with the most important first aid instructions of the Finnish Red Cross. You can practise first aid by yourself or on first aid courses. .

- International degree students in JYU's Master's degree programmes: For treatment assessments and appointments, you can contact the Finnish Student Health Services FSHS.

Social and Crisis Emergency Services
Social and Crisis Emergency Services answer to immediate need for help 24/7. They organise urgent social work assessments and immediate measures for people of all ages. University chaplain
The services of the university chaplain are available for all students. You can reach the chaplain by email or WhatsApp, or anytime on the campus. With the University chaplain, you can discuss any matter that may cause you distress. The discussions are confidential and free of charge.

Help with substance abuse
The city of Jyväskylä offers support with substance abuse issues through counselling and on-call services that include evaluations, treatment and assistance. You can contact your own Social and health station, or the on-call intoxicant service of the Jyväskylän Seudun Päihdepalvelusäätiö..
