Local IT Support and On-Call Assistance - Help for IT problems on campus

The mission of Local Computer Support is to promote and facilitate the use of the University's digital services close to staff and students.

Local IT support means a service related to IT and digital problems, where the customer contact can be direct or through the HelpJYU service portal.

Typical events are:

  • equipment handovers and commissioning
  • troubleshooting of equipment and solutions requiring the presence of the customer (e.g. logging in to services with the customer's ID)
  • solutions to acute IT problem situations

If you are having problems with University computers, peripherals or software, please submit a request to the in the first instance. We can then arrange a meeting with you.

Local IT support is available during regular working hours on weekdays at. 8.00-16.00

For emergency issues, please call 029 442 8030. The number is available weekdays at. 9.00-15.00 at the Digital Services Service Desk. (Vaihda linkki).

The on-call assistance receives reports of major information system or traffic problems in the evenings and at weekends

Digital Services also organises and implements emergency services outside regular working hours. It receives reports of acute failures in information systems or telecommunications.

Based on the findings received, the effectiveness of the findings is assessed in order to schedule corrective actions immediately or within the next working day.
