The professional expertise of a graduate develops during doctoral training as a result of conducting research, attending training events and acting as a member of the university and scientific community.

You can graduate as a Doctor of Philosophy, Doctor of Science in Economics and Business Administration, or Doctor of Science in Technology, in one of the following specialisation options:

• specialisation in Information Systems Science (PhD or D.Sc. (Econ. & Bus. Adm.))
• specialisation in Computing and Education (PhD)
• specialisation in Computer Science and Engineering (PhD or D.Sc. (Tech.))
• specialisation in Computational Science (PhD)
• specialisation in Cognitive Science (PhD)

The emphasis of the postgraduate degree is on research leading to the doctoral dissertation. In addition, at least 30 ECTS credits of doctoral studies must be completed.

A dissertation is a comprehensive, research-based scientific presentation in the doctoral candidate’s field of study. It represents the candidate’s ability to independently and critically apply the methods of scientific research and create new scientific knowledge. See more information on dissertation requirements.
