I work as a District Manager at Lidl, which is one of the largest retail companies in Europe. In Finland we have almost 160 stores with over 5000 employees. Since October 2015 I have been working at Lidl, where I am currently responsible of five different stores, with responsibility for the commercial and financial management of the stores and of a staff of up to 100 people. In addition, my work includes guaranteeing high quality levels and the respect of company standards and procedures. The majority of my working hours consist of different tasks within HRM, such as recruiting. In addition to my daily tasks I am in charge of financial planning and monitoring of my stores.
I can honestly say that IBE was a perfect match for me. The majority of the courses covered topics from entrepreneurship, management and strategic decision-making in a truly international learning environment. We gave a bunch of presentations, which in my opinion is extremely important in the modern business world - you have to be able to speak to a large audience on a daily basis. I was also able to create international networks, which I have already utilized.
