Please mark the Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥ (JYU) as your affliation whenever your publication is based on research or other expert work related to the activities of our university. There can be more than one affiliation, but the first one always refers to the university where the research (or most of it) was carried out.
It is important that the affiliation is correctly cited in the publication so that the publication can later be recorded to the correct organisation and author in statistics and reference databases.
Below are some examples of the correct way to mark the affiliation of JYU in English. The most important thing is that JYU is always mentioned in the affiliation. If the author wishes, he or she can then add, for example, the name of a department or a particular research centre.
- Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥, Department of Education
- Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥, Department of Teacher Education
- Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥, Department of Faculty of Mathematics and Science, Nanoscience Center
If necessary, please contact your faculty's communications specialist for instructions on how to label your faculty or unit.
Sometimes a publication is written only after the employment relationship with the university where the main research work was done has ended. Researchers coming to or leaving the Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥ must ensure that the first affiliation of future publications always refers to the university where the research was carried out. Therefore, the affiliation of the publication and the author's current organisation and contact details are not always the same.
Please make sure that the affiliation of the Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥ is correctly indicated not only in publications but also in reference databases (e.g. Dimensions, WoS/Clarivate, Scopus/Elsevier).
