Research interests

In particular, my research deals with the regularities in the structure and use of Finnish sign language, which I approach with the help of corpus data and various technologies. The knowledge gained from my research can be used directly, for example, in sign language education and will also benefit the sign language community's efforts to promote sign languages as a minority language among other languages. Corpus of Finland-Swedish Sign Language: translating sign language into Swedish, Signbank videos and a signed user manual

The project will produce a Swedish translation of the Finland-Swedish sign language corpus, a lexical database and a signed user manual.

Nordic Signed Language Corpus Network (NSLCN)

The project will organize three workshops and bring together a network of Nordic signed language researchers, who all work with multimodal SL corpora using a cognitive-functional linguistic approach.
