THE ranking: Education among the top of the world, social sciences also ranked well, economics new on the list

Education at the Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥ was ranked 95th among the world’s best universities. The Times Higher Education World University Rankings listed 428 universities in the field of education. JYU’s position was almost the same as in 2017.

JYU’s social sciences were ranked 201–250 as in the previous year. The list of social sciences included 666 universities. Economics at JYU was ranked 301–400 as a newcomer in the list of 585 top universities in the field of business and economics.

The assessment of education included world’s leading universities in the field of education and teacher training. In social sciences, the ranking assessed communication and media studies subjects, political and international studies, sociology and geography.

The rankings by subject focused on teaching, research and citations.In addition, external funding, international outlook and international reputation of research were assessed.
