The study explores the conditions under which JAMK University of Applied Sciences (Jamk) could be transferred from the City of Jyväskylä to the Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥ during the contract period 2025–2028. The transfer would mean that the Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥ would own more than half of the share capital of JAMK University of Applied Sciences. If the ownership arrangements were implemented, the City of Jyväskylä would remain a significant owner of JAMK University of Applied Sciences with at least 35% ownership, in accordance with the letter of intent. The actual decisions on possible changes to the ownership arrangements will be made by the end of 2025 based on the study now being carried out.

If implemented, the possible ownership arrangements would not affect the basic tasks of the higher education institutions, but they would remain in accordance with the Universities Act and the Universities of Applied Sciences Act.
