With regard to decision-making by the City of Jyväskylä, the schedule has been specified. Before making a decision, the plans will be reviewed at the City Council’s seminar and the City Board’s evening meetings in February. Therefore, the actual decisions on the letter of intent will be postponed until March, and thus any decisions on changes in ownership arrangements will be postponed until early autumn 2025.

“This is such an extensive issue that we want to give our decision-makers enough time and opportunities to study the matter”, says Caius Forsberg, Chairman of the Jyväskylä City Board, in a press release published by the City of Jyväskylä on 6 February. “This is important so that we can discuss sufficiently with the management of both higher education institutions and define a unified vision for the objectives of the reform. In this way, we can specify some issues that need to be clarified already in the letter of intent, which for its part specifies the direction and scope of the study.”
