QS World University Rankings 2024: Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥ among the world’s best universities

JYU’s position in the latest ranking was 489, while in 2023 it finished at 446. Making the list is an achievement in itself, as it comprises only the top 1,500 universities in the world. Of the nine universities from Finland on the list, JYU was seventh.
The ranking list was dominated by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the United States and the Imperial College London in England.
The ranking is based on five indicators with different weightings: Research and Discovery 50% (based on academic reputation and citations per faculty), Employer Reputation and Employment Outcomes 20%, Faculty Student Ratio 10%, Global Engagement 15%, and Sustainability 5%.
JYU received the best score in the ratio of students to teaching staff. The University’s international research network was also deemed to be very high quality.
