During the autumn semester 2023, it was Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥'s turn to host this semester. According to the FORTHEM Lab coordinated by JYU - - , the FORTHEM Campus concentrated on topics of multilingualism, language learning and teaching. Naturally, all courses offered to exchange students at JYU were also available for the FORTHEM Campus students. In total, we welcomed 40 students from FORTHEM partner universities for this semester, and seven of them concentrated primarily in FORTHEM Campus courses. The active collaboration both in the Multilingualism Lab and locally with Mankola school made it possible to plan and to create interesting content for the students of FORTHEM partner universities.

In the core of the FORTHEM Campus at JYU was the course Approaches to Multilingualism, led by Senior Lecturer Tamás Péter Szabó. The course was included in the study plan of the FORTHEM Campus students in a way that they could choose among different topics according to their interests. Altogether 15 hybrid sessions were organised, and JYU welcomed 8 visiting teachers from 5 different universities to contribute to the course. All the sessions but one were open to public, and there were altogether 169 registrations to the course, with an average of 46 participants per session. There were registered online participants from all over the world.

In addition to the course, altogether four researcher meetings were organised in a hybrid modality, and there were 44 registrations on average per meeting.

One important part of the FORTHEM Campus at JYU was the conference for early career researchers: Discussing Ongoing Research on Multilingualism, organised on 21st November 2023 by two PhD students at JYU; Laura Castañe Bassa and Venla Rantanen. The conference was a success, with participants both on-site and online. PhD students got experience on organising a scientific conference, a chance to present their ongoing work, to network and to discuss their topics. For more details about the conference, see the Book of Abstracts which can be downloaded on the event page.
