Development of research methods

We develop research methods in applied linguistics and contribute to the theoretical and conceptual development of the field.

In particular, we are renewing methods for citizen science, participatory and arts-based methods, and digitally enhanced methods for language and literacy learning.  CALS is also an active developer of research ethics, particularly in the areas of qualitative and participatory research. We work methodologically in collaboration with interdisciplinary research teams, educational institutions, arts organisations and third sector actors, among others.

Citizen Science research on co-located schools in Finland and Italy

The main purpose of the project is to facilitate, develop and promote multilingualism in education through Citizen Science research in co-located schools in Finland and Italy (South Tyrol).
