Methodology studies

By studying research methodology, the aim is to develop new ways of applying statistically advanced modelling methods that can be used, for example, in psychology research.

Methodological competence

Due to methods intensive training most of the researchers at the Department of Psychology master several different tools such as structural equation modelling, latent growth curve modelling, hierarchical modelling as well as mixed and mixture modelling. By combining several of these methods, researchers receive excellent tools to solve even some of the most complex scientific problems.

Longitudinal data

Department of Psychology is widely known for its long-running and internationally unique longitudinal studies. The analysis of these longitudinal datasets have required the use of the most up-to-date methods and the innovative application of the state-of-the-art methods. In recent years, the studies using diary methods and other types of process-oriented methods have created growing expertise in new statistical tools, such as prospective change multilevel modelling and dynamic social network analyses.
