The Equity Team are interested in working on issues related to equity, social justice, language, communication, and/or education. The group meets about once a month and organizes events, workshops, and learning groups for the team itself, as well as colleagues and the whole Language Campus community.

The Language Campus Postgrad Group is a community of early career researchers that organizes various activities for supporting community building, research work and professional development, such as writing retreats, reading circle meetings, mentoring and an annual mini conference called Spring School. 

The Accessibility, language and communication thematic group aims at providing information on accessibility. The group comprehends accessibility as a thorough concept, which covers physical, psychological and cognitive accessibility. The thematic group wishes to extend knowledge about the different forms of accessibility in addition to providing tools for promoting accessibility. The events and activities are organised in cooperation with experts by experience and NGOs, and accessibility is taken into account in the best possible way. The events are open for everyone interested in the topics, including those who are not members of the JYU community.

The Minoritized Languages thematic group aims at providing information on the minoritized languages and their users’ communities in Finland. The thematic group wishes to add knowledge about the history and present day of those languages and their users together with the challenges those communities face and measures that are needed in order to build an equitable society. The events and activities are organised together with the language and culture groups and their representatives. They are organised as part of the development of the Language Campus, but will, whenever possible, be made accessible also for others in the JYU community.

The aim of the thematic group is to bring Swedish back to Jyväskylä as something beneficial, not mandatory, and to make it part of the everyday life and language repertoire of the university students and the city's inhabitants. We organise events in a relaxed and multilingual way.

The thematic group is for all current and future language teachers, but also for language learners. The aim is to provide materials, events and training on language learning, teaching and assessment, specifically in the areas of primary and secondary education.

 is a peer reviewed international Open Access journal housed by the Language Campus at the University of Jyväskylä. Apples transgresses disciplinary boundaries and invites submissions that broadly relate to issues of language in society. We welcome manuscripts from all areas and fields that discuss linguistic and discursive phenomena and their societal embeddedness, for instance by addressing in/equity, exclusion/inclusion, societal challenges and developments, or language rights. We also invite submissions that go beyond traditional academic genres and approach topics that align with our mission in creative ways or novel formats.

The working language of the journal is English but papers and other contributions can also be published in other languages.

The Finnish Network for Language Education Policies (Kieliverkosto) publishes a freely available web journal called Kieli, koulutus ja yhteiskunta (‘’) for short articles on research results and teaching experiments, interviews, policy columns etc. The aim of the journal is to promote discussion and raise awareness of language education policy issues and to bring together researchers, language education policy-makers, teachers and others working in the field of language education.
