From autumn 2021, it is possible to transfer publication data from JYU's Converis research information system to the researcher's . Publications are transferred with the permission of the researcher, new publications automatically and older publications if necessary by mass transfer. The aim of the reform is to facilitate the work of researchers, promote the visibility of research and meet the requirements set by funders (incl. the Academy of Finland) and by the Research Information Hub for the large-scale deployment of international, permanent ORCID research identifiers.
The ORCID researcher identifier resolves confusion related to name changes, researchers with the same name and different spellings of names. It also facilitates data transfer between organizations and services. The identifier reduces the need to enter data multiple times into different systems.
The ORCID researcher identifier allows a researcher to manage their own researcher profile in the new portal. In addition, the ORCID profile can be used as a CV. The ORCID identifier is already used by more than 8 million researchers (for more information see ). The Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥ has been promoting the use of the identifier since 2017 (for more information see , only in Finnish). Optionally, you can also link JYU user account to your ORCID settings, enabling signing into the ORCID registry using JYU credentials.
Researchers are encouraged to create an ORCID identifier for themselves, add it to their own profile in Convers, and give Converis a permission for automatic ORCID transfer of publications. See the quick guide below:
