Please follow these steps to complete your Mobility Online application for Summer School in Human Sciences. NB! Your application is complete and will be processed only after you have followed steps 1-4 of the application process.
Step 1: Fill in the online application form by the application deadline
- Type your name exactly as it appears on your passport or other official identification document
- You can apply to 1 - 3 courses (one course per week). You are asked to choose your first and second course choice for each week. If your first course choice is not arranged or if the course is not available for you for some other reason, your second course choice will be taken into account. For more information on the courses, please see the course descriptions.
- Click the send application -button at the bottom of the page.
- NB! If you are registered as an exchange student at the Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥, please remember to write your name exactly as it appears on your original Mobility Online application so that the system can recognize you.
- NB! If you are registered as a degree student at the Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥, please remember to select the institution "JYVASKYHSS01 Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥ (for Summer and Winter School students)" as your home institution.
Step 2: Register to Mobility-Online
- After you have filled in the online application, you will receive an e-mail message with further instructions and with a request to register to Mobility Online using a link which is included in the message. In case you do not receive the e-mail concerning registration, please check your spam filter.
- When registering to Mobility-Online, please create a login name (6 characters minimal, 10 characters maximal, 1 upper case letters minimal, 1 numbers minimal) and a password (6 characters minimal, 10 characters maximal, 1 upper case letters minimal, 1 numbers minimal). NB! Both the login name and password must fulfill the same requirement!
- NB! Also students registered as degree students of the Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥ should register to Mobility-Online by creating a login name and password. The Haka login cannot be used when applying for the Summer School in Human Sciences.
- NB! If you are registered as an exchange student at the Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥ you do not need to re-register to Mobility-Online. Instead, you can use the login name and password that you created for Mobility-Online when you applied as an exchange student. After filling in the online application you will receive an email with your login information which you can use to enter Mobility-Online.
Step 3: Enter the Mobility-Online system
- Complete your personal data by clicking the link "Complete personal data".
Step 4: Upload an official transcript of records into Mobility Online system
- Upload an official transcript of your university records in English into Mobility-Online in order to finalize the application (not applicable to ISEP students). If you have completed a Bachelor's degree, please attach a transcript of records of your Bachelor's level studies to the application also.
- The transcript of records should list the courses you have completed at your home university so far. The document has to be signed and stamped by a university official.
- You may upload max 7 files (max 2 Mb each). The pdf format is recommended, but also jpg, gif and png are accepted. The size of a document cannot exceed 1000 x 1000 pixels. If you wish to upload several documents, you should re-click the Upload link in your workflow and then the Upload icon to create a new upload.
- Please note that your application cannot be processed without the transcript. If your university cannot provide you with a transcript of records, please contact us at to ask for a standard form and have it signed and stamped by a university official. The transcript should be uploaded into Mobility Online no later than the application deadline 1 March.
- Doctoral level students (Please note that there are no doctoral level courses offered in the Summer School in Human Sciences): in addition to the transcript of records please upload into Mobility-Online also
- a certificate of registration at your home institution
- a document (preferably in pdf -format) where you have included the following information: the name of your home university, program, faculty, department, institute or unit, along with the name, phone number and email address of an academic who can confirm that you are in a program leading to a doctorate in that university
- Students registered as degree students at the Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥ can download the transcript from Sisu, see instructions
Step 5: Please wait for the Confirmation of Acceptance e-mail
- Applicants will be notified of admission to the Summer School by 15 March by e-mail
- NB! Do not make any travel reservations before receiving the Confirmation of Acceptance e-mail
- After receiving the notification of admission, applicants are requested to confirm their participation in the Summer School in the Mobility Online system by 31 March.
- The courses are arranged if at least 10 students have confirmed their participation to the course in question.
Step 6: Reserve accommodation
- The summer school has reserved a limited quota of rooms for those summer school participants who need accommodation during their stay. Please see the Confirmation of Acceptance e-mail for more information.
- Students applying in the framework of the ISEP exchange programme will receive a scholarship for covering their accommodation costs.

Step 7: Complete the identification process
- Students from outside the Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥ will receive instructions by email regarding the process of strong identification via an automated identity verification system which is required from all summer school students in order to get a JYU user account and to access the JYU systems and services.
- Please note that a valid passport or a European identity card or an official national ID with a picture is required for the strong identification process.
