In the fall of 2019, I started studying in JSBE's international master's programme, where my major was international business and entrepreneurship (IBE). Before starting my studies, I had been in the workforce for more than 10 years, mainly in various sales and business development positions, but at the same time I had been dreaming for years of updating my skills through a master's degree in business and economics. After studying for just under two years, I graduated in June 2021 with excellent grades and immediately got a new job in global company Fortum.

In my current job in Fortum's trading organization, I am responsible for Fortum's bilateral customer relations with Finnish energy-intensive industry and electricity retailers. The energy industry has traditionally had a lot of professionals with a technical education background, so the different perspective and strategic thinking skills brought by people from business schools are highly valued in our own organization.

My studies in JSBE's master's program were extremely rewarding and thought-provoking. As students, we were able to enjoy top-level teaching, which emphasized active discussion and exchange of ideas, the importance of working in groups, and the importance of critical thinking. In my opinion, it is precisely these types of skills that are most useful in modern working life, where continuous technological development and rapidly changing operating environments challenge us as humans to the limits of our creativity.
