Seminars of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics

Seminars provide students and staff with an opportunity to learn new topics and to discuss the latest research results.

We host weekly seminars in different research areas present at the department. These events provide a platform for visiting researchers, staff members, and students to present their research. Everyone interested is warmly welcome to come to listen to the talks!

Analysis Seminar

The seminar takes place in MaD302 on Wednesdays 14:15-15:15.

The seminar is devoted to research in analysis in a broad sense, including partial differential equations, geometric analysis, calculus of variations, and analysis on metric spaces.

Programme of the Analysis Seminar

Geometric Analysis Seminar

The seminar takes place in MaD380 on Mondays at 14:15-15:15, unless otherwise stated.

The seminar focuses on topics at the intersection of analysis and geometry, including, but not limited to, geometric measure theory and harmonic analysis, as well as geometric analysis in Euclidean and non-Euclidean settings.

Seminar for Young Researchers

The seminar takes place in room MaD355 on Wednesdays at 10:15–11:15, unless otherwise stated.

The seminar offers an opportunity for young researchers at the department to meet, share interesting research topics and practice giving presentations.

Mathematics teaching seminar

The seminar takes place on Fridays at 14:15-16:00

This seminar is intended for anyone who is interested on teaching related topics. Seminar has an emphasis on mathematics but all topics are also applicaple to other disciplines. We aim to provide useful information on teaching related topics, focusing on current issues. Seminar is typically held online when we have a visitor and on-site for workshops etc.
