Children's University JYUniorit

Can you learn languages by moving? Who invented the Internet? And do earthworms have ears? Let's get excited about science and art together!

The Children’s University JYUniorit offers science clubs, science camps, visits to the university, school visits, and science events for children and young people aged 3-18. You are welcome to join us in exploring and learning new things under the guidance of the staff and students of the Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥.

The aim of our activities is to increase understanding of science and knowledge construction, as well as to enhance scientific literacy and responsible citizenship. Through science education, a child or a teenager can learn critical thinking skills and problem-solving abilities. Science education can also spark an interest in university studies and promote a positive attitude towards science in society.

The activities of JYUniorit are carried out by the Jyväskylä University Museum, Summer Ä¢¹½Ö±²¥, and the Central Finland LUMA Centre in collaboration with university faculties and departments.

Invite LUMA for a visit or come and visit the university

The Central Finland LUMA Centre promotes and supports science education by inspiring children and young people to enter the world of natural sciences, mathematics, and technology. Visits awaken interest in the natural sciences and make research visible to school and daycare groups. LUMA also participates in JYUniorit events on the university campus.
