1. Enter the description of the data in the Converis research information system according to the instructions for "Describing research data in Converis" linked at the bottom of this page and select the data you want to publish with metadata from the last tab of the Converis data section.
    
2. Submit the dataset to the Open Science Centre. If the dataset is stored in the university's Nextcloud cloud storage service, include a link to the folder of the processed and organised data set in the "Nextcloud distribution link for publication" field of the form. If the data set is not in Nextcloud, you can submit it directly to the Open Science Centre's Research Data Services by email or, for large files, using Funet File Sender.
    
3. Then save the data in the 'For validation' status, after which the Open Science Centre's data specialist will check the description data and submit it for publication in the JYX repository, which will provide the required persistent identifier for the data, the DOI.
    
4. Finally, contact the Research Data Services of the Open Science Centre and inform them of the urgency of your case.

Otherwise, follow the JYX publishing instructions linked at the bottom of this page, but select the "Metadata of research data" option from the last tab of the Converis data section. Save the information in "For validation" from the bottom-right corner. Before doing this, make sure that all the information is up to date. This is how you get a DOI for the metadata landing page and the DOI ID that the publications need. The files themselves can also be added to this landing page later, when the data set is ready to be published. In this case, make a separate request to supplement the description data to the research data services or use the 'Send request to OSC' free-text field on the last tab of the metadata entry. 

There are two ways to publish code:

1. by publishing the general description or metadata of the code repo (e.g. GitLab) or,
2. by publishing a snapshot of the code at a certain point in time.

In the case of publications, a snapshot according to point two is usually required.
