How do I start?
 

• Agree among the research team on a systematic naming convention for masterfile folders, individual files and different versions. 
• Create a README.txt file in the root of the directory and in all key subfolders, which contains the description. the file naming conventions of the directory and a concise explanation of the contents of each folder and file. 

• Create a file called METHODS_foldername.txt in connection with each master folder, which contains the link. for the description of the methods used in the collection, processing and documentation of the data set. Create a folder called ABOUT_foldername.txt in connection with each master folder, which contains a link to the metadata record created in JYU's Converis. The Converis metadata record contains the basic description information of the dataset, e.g.
   

  name
  the authors
  abstract
  file formats
  rights holders (i.e.owners)
  related research project
  related publications, if any
  key words
  distributor
  last modified date
  license information/any restrictions on availability
  planned life cycle
  the planned data archive of the dataset to be published
   

• Sisällytä metodikuvailuun kuvaus standards of proceduresta (SOP), mittauslaitteista sekä analyysiskripteistä. Esimerkki: avaintietoja puettavista antureista saatavasta datasta ovat:
  anturin nimi
  mittauslokaatio
  anturin kiinnitystapa
  tallennuksen kesto
  resoluutio. 
   

  Miten etenen analyysin aikana?

• Tallenna ja kuvaile datan tilastolliseen prosessointiin käytetty syntaksi. Ks. . 
   
• Ks. taulukkomuotoisesta mittauskuvailusta. 
   
• Sähköiset laboratoriopäiväkirjat (ELN) ovat yleistyviä päivittäisen dokumentaation työkaluja. Voit vertailla markkinoilla olevia tuotteita esim. Harvard Medical Schoolin ylläpitämästä .
