The development of technology and digitalisation have drastically changed the the world and the societies we live in. They also challenge the traditional methods to manage, maintain and provide security. Especially malevolent methods of influence have changed and evolved remarkably – digitality, information and cognition being the intrinsic concepts defining them. Therefore, understanding the comprehensive security environment by developing methods of strategic intelligence and the ability to manage and enhance the level of cognitive security have become crucial in modern societies. Cognitive security refers to a state in which influence operations can be countered or have no impact.

  • The aim is to understand constantly evolving information environments, cognitive dimension of influence and to provide means and methods to manage them in a way contributing to the comprehensive security of Finnish and western societies.
• Strategic intelligence and developing intelligence culture in Finland
  • The aim is to develop research-based methods and processes to gain strategic intelligence to support the comprehensive security of Finnish and western societies. We also wish to be active and contributing actor in understanding and creating intelligence culture in Finland.
