I work as a university teacher in the management and leadership discipline at JSBE. My job description is teaching-focused: it includes teaching leadership and management in Finnish and English as well as pedagogical development work. I supervise empirical and theoretical bachelor theses in a student-centred way. My responsibilities include teaching in the Responsible Management and Business of Sport's (RESPO) international Master's programme in compulsory courses, such as the internship programme. In addition, I participate in the academic evaluation and selection of applicants. I also act as a wellbeing adviser for students in our business school.
In my own dissertation research project, I am interested in management and organizing from an ethical and responsible perspective. In particular, I study social movement organisations, the ethics of care and vulnerability in the context of organising death.
If I could give my younger self any advice about academic life, it would be:
Don't compare yourself to others. You're not in such a hurry. Remember to enjoy the small (and big) moments of happiness.
