My current research in OneChild project, funded by the Research Council of Finland (2022-2025), focuses on the subsequent childbearing of first-time parents in the context of declining fertility. The project utilizes two sets of longitudinal survey data in investigating whether and how first-time parents’ experiences related to the transition to parenthood, early steps of parenthood, and the reconciliation of work and family life are associated with the intention of having a second child and the birth of the second child.
