Biography
Jutta Viinikainen earned her doctorate in economics in 2012. Her research focuses on labor and health economics, with a particular emphasis on the relationships between health, health behavior, and labor market outcomes. She has taught a range of subjects, including public economics, labor economics, behavioral economics, and mathematical economics.
Viinikainen has been a visiting scholar at several prestigious universities and research institutions, such as Monash University (2019), University College London (2018), the LIKES Research Center (2018), Boston University (2017), and the University of Bamberg (2016). She serves as the Head of Economics at JSBE, a member of its executive board, and a deputy member of the faculty council. Additionally, she is part of Finland's coordination group for the European Commission’s 1+ Million Genomes initiative, a member of the initiative’s international health economics working group, and an alumnus of the Young Academy Finland.
