
Hanna Pirinen
Biography
Senior researcher Dr. Hanna Pirinen is an art historian whose area of expertise focuses on authenticity research of works of art in a multidisciplinary context. She has also studied images, their painters, and artists as well commissioners in networks of power circles in the early modern era. In her publications, she has problematized, both religious and political relations between art and society in terms of Finnish art history and international connections with a long-term perspective, from Reformation phenomena to the art policy of the German National Socialists and Finnish museum collections. She has experience in both project management and institutional management as well as multidisciplinary expert tasks in art. The project led by Dr. Pirinen became the university-based research company Recenart Oy. She has supervised and and evaluated theses from bachelor's theses to dissertations.
